Hello! I am Melissa, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), in Ohio with a master's degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University and a Pupil Services Social Worker registration, which allows me to practice in a school setting. I believe the key to beginning therapy is meeting clients where they are at in life and acknowledging and accepting change takes work and courage, especially when we are working on bettering ourselves. There is something profound when one can take a step back and realize how they would like to change in order to live a fulfilling and happy life. My therapy focus is based on changing our negative and intrusive thoughts, so they do not become our beliefs. Changing these thoughts will in turn change our outlook and eventually our feelings and beliefs about ourselves.

By being able to identify clients’ needs and building rapport and relationships in therapy, I have seen great success within my clients’ lives. I have a strong background in providing social and emotional support and guidance within the family system as well as contributing to a foundation for life-long social and emotional well-being for young children and their families.
